I am attorney Brian K. Larkin. My small firm allows me to provide high-quality, individualized attention to each and every one of my clients. I believe my clients are best served when they receive practical, uncomplicated solutions to their legal problems. From my office in Rockford, I provide legal assistance to people throughout the Rock River Valley.

I have many years of experience representing people in Illinois in many areas of the law. This experience allows me to understand a legal issue from all perspectives and give my clients the positive outcome they want in a short amount of time. In my experience, it is best when the parties can reach an agreement. If the parties can't reach an agreement then the Judge will decide, which may ultimately result with nobody being satisfied.

In my practice, I focus on providing skilled representation in divorce and other family law proceedings. When a client has questions about moving forward with a divorce, I take a look at his or her unique situation and determine how best to proceed to get a fair settlement quickly.

Divorce & family law: I help my clients reach a fair divorce settlement whenever possible.
When negotiations are at an impasse, I am ready to go to court and fight for the best possible outcome for my clients.
When married and unmarried couples decide to end a relationship, they face important decisions about dividing property, establishing child custody and setting up support payments.
I have been asked many times, whether it is important to hire an attorney to go to the real estate closing for the sale or purchase of real estate.
I usually answer that you may not discover until you are in the closing that you need an attorney, which at that point, it is too late to hire an attorney.
Sometimes you discover as you are going through the process that there is an issue or issues and it will be to your benefit to have an attorney representing you.
This will likely be the largest purchase of your life and it is best to be proactive and protect yourself.
I have represented clients with injuries from automobile collisions with all types of injuries, from soft tissue injuries, to broken bones, to wrongful death claims.
Not all automobile collisions result in injury claims.
I do not represent people that are not actually injured by a collision.
If you weren't really injured, don't contact me, but if you were injured, I am interested in meeting with you.
It is important to document the damages as soon after the collision to avoid the loss of evidence.
In Rockford, Illinois, the percentage of people in 2017 that rented was 30.97%.
Based on Rockford's population, that is approximately 46,330 tenants.
With that many people there are bound to be both good and bad tenants, just as there are good and bad landlords.
I have represented both landlords and tenants in eviction actions.
In Winnebago county the process to evict a tenant is a forcible entry and detainer proceeding.
If you have a tenant that is not abiding by their responsibilities, contact me.
