Aaron Gersten and Karen Gersten continue to manage the practice today.
Family Law is a diverse practice area of law that deals with family situations and relationships.
Family law encompasses such areas as: divorce, legal separation, child custody and support arrangements, alimony, property settlements and post-judgment matters.
In addition to the above, Family Law often deals with all issues pertaining to estate planning, estates and trusts, wills and will contests, probate, insurance, cohabitation agreements, pre-marital (pre-nuptial) agreements, dissolution of marriage, equitable division, marriage and other legal issues pertinent to the family.
The practice of mediation and conflict resolution encourages parties to communicate with each other so that a result can be achieved with the assistance of professional legal guidance.
The mediation process is tailored to the needs of the parties and their children, if applicable, and provides a significant degree of control over the outcome, which might otherwise not be attainable.
Most noncriminal disputes can be mediated.
For example, family disputes surrounding divorce, separation, or child custody and visitation can be mediated with the assistance of a lawyer.
Personal injury law serves to represent parties that have been injured either emotionally or physically.
The most common types of personal injury claims are road traffic accidents, accidents at work, tripping accidents, assault claims, accidents in the home, product defect accidents and holiday accidents.
The term personal injury can also encompass medical and dental accidents, often referred to as medical negligence.
In many cases, Personal Injury claims are associated with unsafe work place environments that result in chronic conditions or industrial disease such as asbestosis and mesothelioma, chest diseases (e.g., emphysema, pneumoconiosis, silicosis, chronic bronchitis, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and chronic obstructive airways disease), occupational deafness, occupational stress, contact dermititis, and repetitive strain injury cases.
Medical malpractice claims are often complex cases involving serious injury with long-term effects on both the injured party and the doctor or hospital involved.
With the reputations of medical professionals and hospitals at issue, medical malpractice claims are most often aggressively defended.
There are many factors that help determine when medical malpractice occurs.
Medical malpractice most often occurs when a medical practitioner acts in a negligent manner when treating a medical condition.
