Mr. Band is a former runner (back surgery on 8/3 and 11/20/02 slowed him down) sailor, tennis player, skier, motorcyclist, and jack of all trades (hobby wise).
Following his retirement from the Army Reserve after 25 years of service as a JAG Officer, David Band was appointed by Governor Foster as a member of the Governor's Veterans Affairs Commission.
During his tenure as a Commissioner, he represented AMVETS, traveled around the State and implemented State Policy of protecting the rights of Veterans in the State of Louisiana.
