Services
I needed a trust written for my father who was terminally ill.
I contacted Mr. Gorman and explained through my tears that time was of the essence since my father could pass any moment.
Mr. Gorman asked that I come to his office the very next morning and that he would do everything he could to help me get my father's estate taken care of.
After gathering all of the information that he needed from me, this wonderful man set aside everything to fully complete my dad's trust by the very next day.
Mr. Gorman handled my legal needs with understanding and sympathy.
Creating a well-drafted, comprehensive estate plan is one of the best things you can do for yourself, your future, and your family.
Many people associate estate planning with death, but this misses the mark.
Estate planning is about safeguarding the retirement you have worked so hard to build, protecting your legacy for your loved ones, and making sure you have enough resources to enjoy every stage of your life.
A thorough estate plan can prevent many problems and inconveniences upon your incapacity or death.
ANSWER: A trust is an agreement between a trustor or settlor (the creator of the trust) and a trustee (manager of the trust) to hold certain property for the benefit of another (usually called a beneficiary).
A "revocable" trust is one that the settlor can change or cancel (revoke) during their lifetime.
An "irrevocable trust" is one that cannot be changed by the Settlor or the beneficiary.
Revocable trusts are often used to plan your estate in order to avoid probate.
In a revocable trust you can create it yourself, appoint yourself as the trustee, and during your lifetime be the beneficiary of the trust.
