What is estate planning?
Simply stated, estate planning protects you, your loved ones, and the assets you've worked a lifetime to accrue.
It is the act of creating a plan for how you want your assets handled upon disability or death, and while it can be uncomfortable to think about these things, it's also incredibly important.
If you don't have an estate plan in place when tragedy strikes, the state will put a plan in place for you-but you probably won't like it.
Estate planning can help ensure that your legacy is passed down, along with your tangible assets.
What is Medicaid?
In 1965, Medicaid was established as a federal program designed to provide medical assistance for people with limited income and resources.
In the United States, it is the largest source of funding for health-related services for low income people.
Medicaid funding comes from a combination of state and federal dollars, and there are both state and federal regulations that apply to the operation of the Medicaid program.
Recipients must be legal permanent residents or citizens of the United States, and may include low-income adults, their dependents, and people with specified disabilities.

To many, will planning and estate planning are one and the same.
Both provide your relatives with instructions about how your property should be handled after your death, but estate planning goes even further to outline your wishes regarding your health, finances, and more, even while you're living.
The earlier the better!
