Services
Reese Joye opened the doors of the Joye Law Firm in 1968 to guide people through some of the most difficult times of their lives.
Our South Carolina accident attorneys work diligently to do more than help our clients get the compensation they deserve - we help restore the quality of their lives.
At Joye Law Firm, we are proud of what we do and we are honored to be a part of our community.
We established Joye in the Community to give back to our neighbors, support local education, help local charities, and improve the health and well-being of those around us.
Joye Law Firm was founded by Reese I. Joye, who started the firm in 1968 with the mission of helping people during some of the most difficult times of their lives.
Joye, 70, passed away in 2008 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where he had been furthering his profession by organizing an annual trial advocacy summer conference at Harvard University.
A tenacious litigator who focused on protecting the rights of individuals, Joye tried hundreds of cases before juries and authored several legal books during his more than 40-year legal career.
I'm a trial lawyer at the Joye Law Firm.
The top three types of cases I handle are trucking, personal injury and product liability.
Right now, I probably do more trucking litigation cases than other kinds of litigation.
I usually work on tractor-trailer crashes that occur on the highways and interstates in South Carolina.
The majority of my product liability work centers around automobiles.
I focus on defective tires, airbags, seatbelt buckles, drive systems and safety restraint systems.
I also do other types of product liability work, like industrial machinery.
I am the Managing Partner at Joye Law Firm.
I joined the firm in 1994 after spending six years as an attorney with the state's largest corporate defense firm.
In 2006 I became the managing partner of Joye Law Firm.
While my primary focus now is on the firm's business operations, I also handle cases involving workers' compensation, car accidents, and defective products and head up the firm's referral practice.
Joye Law Firm works in association with dozens of lawyers each year to ensure our clients receive the best possible representation.
In this profession, there can be a lot of churning of people, where they end up as just a number.
That is not the case with Joye Law Firm.
By way of example, I had a case that just resolved where I sent my client out for a medical evaluation.
The guy who examines her comes back and says, "Well, she could have x surgery."
But her treating doctor, who I know is good, says, She could have that surgery, but it could be horrific in terms of the outcome.
I wouldn't do it.
A lot of lawyers would push her into that because the case would be worth more.
