Before attending college Matt managed his family's wholesale and retail gasoline distribution business.
In less than two and one-half years, Matt graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. in Political Science (with a strong emphasis on government and business courses) in 1981 from Loyola University and obtained his Juris Doctor Degree Cum Laude from Tulane Law School in 1984.
Matt has served as lead counsel in several complex multi-party oil and gas litigation and arbitration matters in state and federal courts in Louisiana and Texas.

He routinely represents clients in connection with the exploration, development and operation of oil and gas mining properties, including transactions, litigation, title examination, and regulatory matters.
Joe also handles environmental and general business litigation and transactions, representing various businesses and their principals in many areas of Louisiana.
Joe has given presentations to various oil and gas industry groups, including the Louisiana Mineral Law Institute, the Lafayette Association of Petroleum Landmen, the North Houston Association of Professional Landmen and the Ark-La-Tex Association of Professional Landmen.
He routinely represents clients in connection with the exploration, development and operation of oil and gas mining properties, including transactions, litigation, title examination, and regulatory matters.

Chris has also represented clients in real estate and business transactions and in environmental law related to "legacy" lawsuit defense.
He regularly presents papers and speeches to various land professional and division order analysts' associations on a wide array of oil and gas topics.
Chris received his undergraduate degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2000 and his law degree from Loyola University New Orleans - College of Law in 2004.
Chris has also represented clients in real estate and business transactions and in environmental law related to "legacy" lawsuit defense.

Shawn Carter was born in Houston, Texas in 1977 and was raised in Lafayette, Louisiana.
Carter graduated from St. Thomas More High School in 1995.
He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in General Studies in 2000 from The University of Louisiana at Lafayette where he graduated cum laude and received the Outstanding Graduate award for his college.
He received a Juris Doctor in 2003 from Louisiana State University, where he served on the Law Review Board as the Executive Senior Editor.
After graduating from law school, Carter returned to his hometown of Lafayette.
