At Bardy Law, even though we tend to focus on transactional law, like estate planning and business planning, our practical and law practice experience allows us to answer questions in virtually any area and to provide referrals to other specialty practices as needed. Practical experience includes working as either a financial planner or attorney since 1985; includes working as a claims adjuster or an attorney since 2001.

We understand the desire our clients have to live well, properly utilize their assets during their lifetimes, and to pass their assets to their heirs with a minimum of confusion and expense. At Bardy Law, we have participated in the complete lifecycle of businesses from startup organization; to growth or recovery; to the sale of the business to a new generation or to an outside buyer.

Our experience uniquely qualifies us to assist business owners to realize their dreams.
Services
I graduated in 2005 from Gustavus Adolphus College.
I spent the next 10 years working in the insurance industry.
During the last 7 years I handled litigated commercial cases for a large multinational retailer where I gained experience in commercial insurance litigation, complex negotiations, and mediation while attending law school in the evenings and coaching youth soccer and hockey.
In May of 2013, I graduated from William Mitchell, pass the bar in July, obtained my Minnesota law license in November, and began working with Bardy Law Office, PA in December of the same year.
The most important aspect of our practice is customer service.
We have always looked at our services from our client's side of the table.
When we are a customer, and call on a company to provide us with service, we expect prompt and courteous service.
In turn, we try to deliver excellent service to our clients.
Excellent customer service means returning phone calls as soon as possible, but no later than the next day.
Customer service means updating the client regarding their situation as soon as we know information.
Coordinate beneficiary designations with your estate planning documents so that everyone is on the same page.
Practical experience since 1985, either as an insurance agent, as a financial planner, as a claims adjuster, or as attorneys, uniquely qualifies us to help people draft estate planning documents.
We understand the risks clients face as well as their desire to live well and properly utilize their assets during their lifetimes as well as our client's desire to pass their assets to their heirs with a minimum of confusion and expense.
As attorneys we understand and can help a business owner manage the contractual relationship between owners, between the company and its employees, or its suppliers, or its customers.
In short, we review contracts to proactively eliminate potential lawsuits for the company.
Because of our overall experience, we understand qualified benefits and nonqualified benefits as well as permissible means of compensating owners of various types of business entities.
In addition, we have participated in the complete lifecycle of the business from start up organization; to growth or recovery; to the sale of the business to a new generation or to an outside buyer.
Planning an estate is only the first step.
At Bardy Law, we use training, practical knowledge and experience to process the estate through either probate or trust administration.
Bardy Law, together with a CPA specializing only in tax returns for trusts or decedents, works to cover all the bases in estate administration including valuing the assets, paying creditors, filing all necessary tax returns, accounting for all estate expenditures and ultimately distributing shares to your heirs.
If you have experienced a recent death in your family and have a question, please provide a few specifics and we will arrange a no obligation consultation.
