David Lash has been a lifelong resident of the Cleveland Heights/Beachwood, Ohio area.
He graduated from Cleveland Heights High School and attended college at Ohio University, majoring in psychology.
David has been practicing law for more than 33 years.
He developed a robust general law practice assisting clients with their legal concerns.
His principal areas of practice include foreclosure defense, bankruptcy, divorce/custody/domestic relations, personal injury, and criminal/traffic/municipal court law.
Homeowners facing foreclosure are often able to remain in their homes for an extended period of time.
This is true even if they can't make their regular monthly mortgage payments and/or property tax payments.
This scenario is common where there is little or no equity in the property.
Other homeowners find that declining real estate values have resulted in homes that are worth less than what is owed.
By aggressively defending against the mortgage lenders, foreclosure sales (sheriff sales) can be postponed for up to two years.
The Cuyahoga County Foreclosure Mediation Program was started in June of 2008.
In the year leading up to the program's announcement, Supreme Court Justice Moyer challenged and encouraged all of Ohio's courts with specialized foreclosure dockets to create foreclosure mediation programs.
The Cuyahoga County Court took immediate action and started work on developing a program that would be beneficial to the parties, the Court and the County.
Subsequently, other Northeast Ohio county courts developed mediation programs to assist homeowners with loan modification and other solutions.
Many people have trouble paying their bills, especially when they lose their job.
If you are overwhelmed by debt and can't pay your bills, you may have to file for bankruptcy.
There's no formula for deciding when bankruptcy is the right choice.
You have had a severe financial setback, such as losing your job, going through a divorce, or incurring costly medical expenses.
My broad experience and extensive resources ensure that my clients receive personalized, professional service of the highest caliber.
A person does not have to have serious injuries such as a broken bone or bleeding to be entitled to a settlement.
If your injury is serious enough to require medical care and attention, it would satisfy the first requirement for compensation.
If you were primarily responsible for the accident that caused your injury, you probably would not be entitled to compensation.
However, if you were a passenger in a car regardless of who is at fault, you would be entitled to file a claim.
Primary responsibility for payment of your settlement lies with the insurance company for the at-fault party.
