You need an attorney you can trust. You need a local DWI lawyer who knows the ropes in the area. You need an attorney who keeps up with the latest scientific and legal nuisances of DWI cases. I am an attorney that encompases all of these qualities. I am an attorney that encompasses all of these qualities. Unlike most attorneys who handle many areas of law, or even "general criminal defense attorneys, " almost every one of the cases of which I am retained are for DWI, DUI, and Intoxication related offenses.

This enables me to give you the best possible representation for your Texas DWI or DUI case. Like most people, you are probably concerned with the prospect of having to hire an attorney. Because of this, I offer a Free DWI Consultation. If you decide I am not the attorney for you, you owe me nothing. This free DWI consultation allows us to meet in person and discuss your case in detail.

You can receive your free consultation by calling 1-888-DWI-FRISCO. My sincere hope is that at the end of our consultation, you will become a little more relaxed and comfortable with the charges you are facing.
Services
At the time of your arrest, the police officer likely presented you with a Notice of Suspension/Temporary Driving Permit (DIC - 25).
Hopefully you have thoroughly read this document and are aware that your driver's license will automatically be suspended 40 days from the date of arrest (or the date you were served with the notice, whichever is later) unless you or your attorney requests a hearing in the manner prescribed by law.
The importance of requesting this hearing can not be overstated.
If you drive while your license is under suspension, you may be charged with Driving While License Suspended, a misdemeanor.
The Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus test is the first test that is supposed to be administered by the police officer.
This is the "Pen Test" where a pen (or other stimulus) is passed in front of your face back and forth in order for the officer to determine if HGN is present in your eyes.
Law enforcement claims that the HGN test is 88% accurate at determining if someone is 0.08 or above.
There are MANY, MANY problems with that statement.
For one, even if it is as accurate as claimed, the test must be performed exactly to specifications in order to not give a false reading!
Collin County DWI AttorneyYou may be wondering about the process which occurs after your arrest.
Collin County DWI AttorneyAs mentioned on several other pages of this site, there are actually two different processes working against you at the same time.
The Criminal Case, and the ALR / License Suspension process.
You can read about the ALR Process HERE.
Your arrest was the first formal step in the criminal DWI process.
Your arrest supposedly happened after the officer felt that he had enough probable cause to arrest you.
I am often asked about the process that occurs after your license is confiscated subsequent to a DWI arrest.
As mentioned on several other pages of this site, there are actually two different processes working against you at the same time.
The Criminal Case, and the ALR / License Suspension process.
This is the first step in the process.
You must request a hearing within 15 days in order to preserve your right to fight the suspension.
In general, this is the first step I take on behalf of my clients.
Texas law requires that a request for a hearing to keep your license must be made within 15 days from the date of your DWI arrest.
If you fail to hire an attorney, and a hearing is not requested, you waive the opportunity to fight the license suspension.
In short, the sooner you act the better chance I will have in providing the best DWI defense you need.
There are tremendous societal pressures to make DWI arrests.
MADD puts a great deal of pressure on legislators and the District Attorney and Police Departments to get "tough" on people that drink and drive.
