Worcester County Uncontested Divorce Conciliation and Mediation was founded by a seasoned divorce attorney who spent 30 years in the "trenches" trying contested family law matters. Divorce and separation can bring out the worst in people. Many couples realize that a contested divorce is not for them for various reasons and would prefer a cooperative, amicable divorce.

They agree, for the most part, on the major issues like custody, property division, child support and spousal support, but they don't know how or where to start to dissolve their marriage. We offer a low-cost alternative to litigation and traditional mediation.

We will help you nail down your agreement; iron out any wrinkles; prepare your divorce documents including an expertly- drafted, comprehensive agreement for inclusion in your divorce judgment, and walk you through the court process to ensure your papers get filed and approved by the court quickly. We offer a calming environment; daytime, and evening appointments; and a low-stress experience.
Services
Unlike other law firms and mediation firms that profit from conflict, our goal is to get your divorce done as inexpensively and as amicably as possible.
As it should be.
Choosing to end your marital partnership does not mean you have to hate one another.
The name calling and finger pointing rarely change the outcome of the financial settlement or the parenting plan.
We want to help you maintain your dignity during this inherently difficult process and keep more of your hard-earned money in your pocket where it belongs.
We offer a wide-variety of services which include collaborative divorce filings, mediation and transactional work to our Worcester clients.
Below is just a sampling.

We will provide up to two consultations with up to four hours of mediation to fine-tune the details of your agreement; expertly prepare your agreement and all required documents, file your divorce petition with the court and walk you through the court process to ensure that your agreement is approved and your divorce is granted.
I was so pleased to have Ms Barbara Liftman represent me.
She knows the law!
Clearly, she is well known and respected within halls of the courthouse.
Barbara was always on time and mindful of costs.
She skillfully navigated through the muddy evidence, exposed and presented the non negotiable truth to the court.
We had a great outcome.
Although I hope I would never have to hire Barbara again, I would do it again in a heartbeat.
I was referred to Barbara from another client that is a friend of mine.
The easy kind of divorce is called a Joint Petition, also called an Uncontested Divorce.
To file a Joint Petition, you and your spouse must have an agreement on all of the issues that a judge would need to decide in a contested divorce.
You are, essentially, writing the Judgment of Divorce for the Judge and asking the Judge to grant you a divorce because your marital partnership has broken down.
If the Judge finds your agreement to be fair and reasonable, then he or she will adopt or incorporate your agreement right into the Judgment and grant your divorce.
As much as I'd love to publish a book with all of the "war" stories I've accumulated, I'd be much happier if none of these real-life horror stories had ever happened.
A good portion of my 26-year career has been spent trying to undo the messes people got themselves in by trying to do their own divorces or trying to take matters into their own hands that should have been left to professionals.
Rob was an educated, well-off executive who decided he could do his own divorce by taking his friend's divorce agreement and adapting it to his own situation.
