Pennsylvania has many laws, rules and regulations governing child custody decisions, and the process can vary greatly from one county to another.
We are well-versed in the policies and procedures for each county in which we practice.
When dealing with custody issues, there is a lot of emotional involvement.
Our staff is trained and experienced in dealing with complex custody issues, and is your advocate while pursuing a solution.
Our experience in custody issues includes the simplest of arrangements to very complex arrangements, even including the availability of grandparents' visitation rights.
Spousal support and child support occur in the majority of family law cases.
Both spousal support and child support are available only when the parties are living separate and apart.
Either party can file for support at the Domestic Relations office in the appropriate county.
Typically, once you file, you will have your initial conference / hearing in one month.
We recommend that you have an attorney represent you at this initial hearing.
There are many overlapping issues to be determined when divorce proceedings are underway, and one of the more challenging issues for separated parents to resolve is child support.
The Pennsylvania Protection from Abuse (PFA) Act allows a person to quickly secure a court order, called a Protection from Abuse Order, or PFA Order, to keep an alleged abuser away.
It is similar to a restraining order in that it prohibits a person from abusing, harassing, stalking or otherwise threatening the person protected by the order with physical harm.
If you wish to file a temporary PFA, if you have already filed a PFA and have a final hearing date, or if you have been served notice that a PFA has been filed against you as the defendant, call Doleva Law right away.
