I attended the State University of New York (SUNY) at Plattsburg, New York, where I majored in English literature.
While attending college I also worked as a track maintenance worker for the Delaware and Hudson Railway for eight years.
I graduated magna cum laude from SUNY Plattsburgh in May of 1982.
