We are now offering zoom video conferences to clients as an alternative means to conduct consultations, many meetings and even some court hearings. Divorce is not easy. Once the painful decision to get divorced has been made, your next and most important decision is whether to commence divorce litigation or whether to explore an alternative out-of-court process such as collaborative divorce.

It is crucial that you get information about your divorce alternatives as early as possible so that all options are available to you. Our law firm, Urban & Pozzuto LLC, offers a wide range of collaborative, negotiation and litigation alternatives to creatively and effectively resolve your divorce or other domestic relations and family law matters, such as custody, support, and parentage proceedings.

Both Brian M. Urban (Certified Specialist in Family Relations Law since 2000) and Bridgette D. Pozzuto provide legal services to clients who desire experienced and personalized assistance, whether in a divorce or any other type of domestic relations matter.
Services
Collaborative divorce allows divorcing couples to resolve their conflicts directly and out of court.
At the heart of the collaborative divorce process is a commitment made between both clients and their respective collaborative counsel not to participate in divorce litigation.
Collaborative counsel guides the process to ensure that both clients are empowered to make informed choices with all essential information, including the same facts, legal advice, knowledge of the other parties' interests, and all potential options for resolution.
The child specialist is a neutral participant specifically representing the children's interests in the collaborative divorce process.
The role of the child specialist in the collaborative divorce process is to collect as much information as possible regarding the well-being of the children and to convey that information to the collaborative participants.
The child specialist then applies his/her expertise to the individual matter to assist the parties in crafting an effective parenting plan.
Even though the child specialist is a mental health professional, he/she does not provide therapy (for either the children or the parents) and does not conduct a custody evaluation (which would be inconsistent with the collaborative process).
Our Family In Two Homes is a Resource Package which can be used when you work with either Brian Urban or Bridgette Pozzuto as your Lawyer.
It is designed to increase both the cost efficiency of your negotiation process and your own effectiveness in that process by allowing you the opportunity to reflect independently on the topics which will likely be of greatest importance to you.
That independent work will in turn permit you to be more prepared for your discussions with Brian or Bridgette in advance of live meetings and, ultimately, allow you to be a more effective communicator and decision-maker.
If you are contemplating the possibility of a divorce, you and your spouse might be like many couples for whom restructuring your family, disentangling your family's finances, or planning your family's separate futures cannot be done by a simple discussion at a kitchen table.
Once the decision has been made that a divorce will occur, the next most important decision facing the couple is what process they will use to resolve their differences.
The process that they select will not only have an impact upon the shorter term personal, emotional, and financial costs of reaching a resolution, but also the longer term, post-divorce outlook for all family members, whether adults or minors.
