Stephen is a lifelong resident of Panama City, Florida and lives on West Bay in Panama City with his wife Emily. The Syfrett family has lived and worked in Bay County since the early 1960's and Stephen returned home to start his professional career in the area. Stephen went to Rutherford High School before attending Auburn University. At Auburn, he discovered a love of economics and law, met his wife Emily, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Economics.
After College, Stephen attended Florida State University College of Law where he graduated cum laude, in the top third of his class. While in Law School, Stephen was an extern with the Florida Supreme Court, worked for the University of Florida's Government Relations Office, interned at the Florida Innocence Project and the James Madison Institute, and worked for a private attorney.
From 2016 to 2018, Stephen worked as an Associate Attorney with the Law Offices of John W. Roberts in Miramar Beach and Panama City, Florida. In this position, he had the opportunity to gain invaluable legal experience including litigation, discovery, case management, and special experience including multiple relator interviews representing clients in front of the Department of Justice.
