Chappell has worked with approximately 150 community associations, condominium and planned communities, advising about transition to unit owner control; general governance and operational issues; insurance concerns, collections and foreclosures of the priority lien or protection of the lien during mortgage foreclosures or unit owner bankruptcies; determination of whether the association or unit owner is responsible for maintenance; document interpretation and amendment; enforcement procedures; the review, drafting, negotiation of contracts proposed to an association; and closing association loans.
