Mr. Gonzalez-Rua represents individuals in all immigration-related matters including deportation defense before the Immigration Courts both in detained and non-detained cases, applicants for Citizenship, Adjustment of Status, and in acquiring nonimmigrant Visas before United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
Prior to opening AGR Law, P.A., Mr. Gonzalez-Rua worked as the Immigration Detention Attorney at Catholic Legal Services in Miami, Florida where he represented countless individuals in deportation proceedings at both the detained and non-detained immigration courts of Miami, Florida, as well as in front of USCIS in a variety of cases focusing primarily on individuals with criminal records.
Mr. Taveras began his legal practice as a Staff Attorney for Catholic Legal Services ("CLS"), a non-profit organization providing legal services to the immigrant community in both Broward and Northern Miami-Dade County.
In his time with CLS, Mr. Taveras represented persons in deportation proceedings before the Miami Immigration Court, as well as persons with Visa Petitions with the South Florida USCIS Offices.
At CLS, Mr. Taveras also conducted weekly "Know Your Rights" presentations to persons being held in immigration detention at the Broward Transitional Center while their removal proceedings were pending; all of this as part of the Legal Orientation Program, which is funded by the Department of Justice's Executive Office for Immigration Review.
