Walter W. Kennedy, III, a native of Birmingham, Alabama, is a 1976 graduate of Vanderbilt University, where he received a B.A. degree, cum laude, majoring in English. He then attended the University of Alabama School of Law, where he served on the Editorial Board of the Alabama Law Review and was a member of the National Trial Advocacy Team, Bench and Bar Legal Honor Society, and Phi Delta Phi.
After graduation from law school, Mr. Kennedy received his license to practice law in Alabama while serving a Judicial Clerkship with the Honorable Samuel A. Beatty, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of Alabama. In 1980, Mr. Kennedy entered private practice with the firm of Nash & Walker, Attorneys, P.A., in Oneonta, where he became a partner in 1982.
In 1993, Mr. Kennedy entered the firm of Church & Kennedy, P.C. in Pell City as a partner. In 1997, he established the present firm. During his career, Mr. Kennedy has served as a judge and prosecutor for several municipalities and as a Deputy Attorney General for the State of Alabama in connection with the acquisition of highway rights of way.
