You want to start a nonprofit, and you know what you want to accomplish.
But do you know how to do this with a board of directors?
Do you know how to comply with the Oregon Nonprofit Corporation Act and the Internal Revenue Code as you set-up your nonprofit?
Due to the nature of nonprofit organizations and the laws requiring government oversight, acquiring a 501(c)(3) or other 501(c) status can be challenging.
The application and accompanying forms must include a complete description of the proposed activities and operations of the organization, and the IRS can question you and request additional information.
