Farrell Martin & Barnell
The firm of Farrell, Martin & Barnell, LLP has been proudly serving the legal needs of Baldwinsville and Central New York under its current name and at its present location in the heart of the Village of Baldwinsville for over 50 years, but its roots in the community go back even further in the town's history. Orman Gale and Winifred Brown Stone originally established the law practice, known then as Gale & Stone, 70 years ago in 1946 with a location on an upper floor of the Seneca Savings building in Baldwinsville.

After Stone moved away in 1952, Gale recruited a young lawyer who had impressed him in the courtroom, Simeon "Si" Farrell, to join him at the firm. Gale & Farrell was born. A second location in North Syracuse was soon after opened by another attorney, Ron Crowley, who had become part of the law firm. A young attorney, Norman Martin, joined the North Syracuse office in 1956.

By the end of the decade, graduating intern Thomas Barnell had also accepted a position as an attorney in the Baldwinsville office.
Services
We counsel clients regarding options available for long-term care and advocate on behalf of clients to make sure they receive the maximum benefits legally allowed by government entitlement programs such as Medicaid.
Traditional health insurance and Medicare provide only limited coverage for the first 100 days of a long term care nursing home stay for individuals who are no longer able to independently perform the activities of daily living (dressing, eating, bathing, ambulating, toileting).
There are also insurance policies specifically designed to pay for long term care expenses, but these policies need to be purchased before there is a need for this type of care.
We advise our clients regarding estate planning, and prepare Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, Health Care Directives and other needed documents to help them achieve their estate planning goals.
We are experienced in assisting clients with both simple and complex estate plans, including planning to minimize estate tax liability as well as creating supplemental needs trusts for disabled beneficiaries when needed.
Additionally, we prepare trusts when appropriate that are specifically designed to achieve our clients' goals including asset protection, minimization of estate taxes, providing for blended families and avoiding probate.
