Justin takes a methodical approach in assessing complex legal issues and enjoys educating others about probate law so they better understand their options.

He believes that everyone can benefit from simple estate planning that can help prevent expensive court proceedings.
Here at Decker & Woods P.C., we believe in the Golden Rule: "Treat others the same way you want them to treat you."
It applies to how we treat "others" and we define "others" as somebody, anybody, and everybody other than ourselves.
The Golden Rule applies regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, or any other status.
In 1982, Attorney Rex Decker opened a solo practice and began applying the Golden Rule to his invoices.
Convinced it was the right thing to do, he started applying the Golden Rule to every aspect of his law practice.
Besides sadness and anxiety about the future, the death of a loved one creates the need to address important financial and legal matters without undue delay.
When you contact the estate attorneys at Decker & Woods, P.C.
The Golden Rule Law Group, we will work with you to determine whether a probate proceeding is necessary by discussing the nature and extent of your loved one's assets.
If the estate is small enough and there are no disputes between the beneficiaries, you may be able to distribute the estate without court proceedings.
The Golden Rule Law Group, we offer will and trust administration services for those who want to accept the role of trustee but need assistance with the process.
There are many duties and responsibilities that go along with assuming the role of trustee, including the risk of incurring personal liability.
Besides other things, there are statutory notice requirements that must be met, payment of creditors and expenses, income and estate tax issues, and beneficiary distributions.
It is important to understand that, as trustee, you will not personally own the trust assets.
A guardianship is a protective proceeding in which the court is asked to appoint an individual (or entity) to make decisions and provide care for a minor or an incapacitated adult (known as the "ward").
The court can appoint a guardian for an unmarried minor if all parental rights of custody have been terminated or suspended by circumstances or by prior court order.
With regard to an adult guardianship, before making such an appointment, the court must find that (1) the person for whom a guardian is sought is incapacitated; (2) the appointment is necessary to provide for the demonstrated needs of the incapacitated person; and (3) the person's needs cannot be met by less restrictive means, including the use of technological assistance.
