My father founded this firm in 1974, and since that time has been representing clients all over Alabama for their various needs.
My main practice concentrates on Financial and Creditor clients.
Our firm serves as general counsel for several Credit Unions.
We also handle the legal needs of those financial clients, including foreclosures, collection, bankruptcy issues, loan closings, compliance, and all other matters related to their financial needs.

Jim practiced law in Birmingham for over twenty years.
During his career he met the needs of clients on a national, regional and local level.
He represented banks, credit unions, as well as finance and mortgage companies.
In addition, Jim was appointed by the Jefferson County Circuit Court to act as Receiver for a business and continued operations until he was able to successfully sell the business and maximize profit for the creditors.
Jim had a longstanding statewide practice and was able to establish a professional relationship with all federal, bankruptcy, state and district courts.
During his career he met the needs of clients on a national, regional and local level.
He represented banks, credit unions, as well as finance and mortgage companies.

Mr. Markham has extensive experience in the banking and finance industry, working in the banking, investment and real estate arena for over 17 years prior to entering the private practice of law.
His experience includes bank audit, compliance and operations experience having worked with de novo banks in developing and implementing initial processes as well as working with established institutions in reviewing asset quality, strategic planning and conducting due diligence in the merger/acquisition process.
