Elizabeth L. Koob, JD New York University School of Law, BA Barnard College of Columbia University. Prior to founding the firm Elizabeth worked for Bronx Legal Services and also part time for the Legal Services Staff Association, District 65, UAW. Joan Magoolaghan, JD Hofstra University School of Law, BA State University of New York at Oswego. Prior to founding the firm Joan worked for Westchester Legal Services and as the Managing Attorney of Bronx Legal Services.
Joan and Elizabeth founded their firm in 1987 due to their common interest in civil rights litigation, in particular defending the constitutional rights of prisoners and of all people to be free from discrimination based upon their race, sex, age, or sexual orientation. For twenty years the firm maintained offices in the Seaport area of Lower Manhattan where we were joined by brilliant, dedicated, and inspiring associates and law students, each of whom embraced the firm's mission.
A law office cannot run effectively and efficiently without a dedicated Office Manager, and we were held together throughout our time in NYC by one of the best in the business - Zenida Gonzalez.
