Services
Allow me to introduce myself-I am Michael Cronkright.
I am passionate about defending parents from false allegations and exaggerated charges of abuse and neglect.
In 2016, after many years of trial work, much of which was related to the task of helping families get CPS out of their lives, I founded Cronkright Law and left my former firm.
I did this, in part, because I wanted the focus of my career to reflect my passion for helping families.
Michael Cronkright is the founder of Cronkright Law in Lansing, Michigan and leads a statewide practice dedicated to helping parents.
Very little is as frightening as realizing you are about to be investigated by Children's Protective Services.
We all know that CPS is supposed to protect children who are in need of advocacy due to their unsafe surroundings, but how are you supposed to respond when you know your child isn't in need of that protection?
Many parents feel threatened and see a danger to the welfare of their children when CPS comes knocking.
Therefore, you may be worried about how to prove your child is safe, protected, and loved under your care.
The reality is that a CPS allegation can rear its ugly head in a variety of court actions.
In some cases, clients have to deal with a divorce or custody action, a criminal prosecution, a Personal Protection Order and a Neglect Petition all at the same time.
In some rare circumstances, a parent may also be contemplating suing CPS or bringing a medical malpractice action against a doctor.
The knowledge of a competent CPS defense attorney must be broad enough to anticipate all of these areas of law.
If you have court-ordered, supervised parenting time or visitation, it probably means things are not going very well in a pending case.
Your objective is to make court-ordered, supervised parenting time a very temporary situation.
With the assistance of your attorney, you should be able to develop a plan to move you away from supervised parenting time and toward unsupervised parenting time.
Generally, when you have a court case going on, parenting time is restricted in a number of ways, such as frequency, length of visit, location and types of activities allowed.
As Michigan CPS attorneys, we have helped a large number of parents handle the difficult situation of hospital investigative interviews.
Unfortunately, many parents submit to interviews with Forensic Doctors, CPS workers and police before they figure out that they desperately need an attorney.
Our CPS trial lawyers defend parents throughout Michigan and can help guide you through the difficulty of being under investigation at the same time you have an injured child.
If your child is injured or comes to the emergency room with any type of sudden and severe medical condition, it is almost a certainty that the child will be evaluated for a possible abusive cause to the medical condition.
