Services
Richard is a partner in the firm's New Orleans office.
He focuses his practice on surety and fidelity law as well as insurance coverage such as employment liability and directors and officers liability.
Since joining the firm in 2007, he regularly counsels insurers on the legal and factual merits of claims, and roots his approach in developing the facts of a claim in a way that most directly implicates the principles of law that should apply.
In litigation, Richard takes a practical approach to advising his clients.
Steven is an associate in the firm's Texas office.
His practice primarily focuses on construction litigation with an emphasis in surety representation.
In addition, he has extensive experience in complex commercial litigation, bankruptcy, secured transactions, insurance coverage, and general business transactions.
Prior to joining the firm, Steven was an attorney with a boutique law firm in Dallas where he specialized in representing owners, general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers on a wide variety of construction-related issues, including litigation, contract negotiations, and alternative dispute resolution.
A native of Huntsville, Alabama, Josh Chesser is a partner in the firm's Alabama office.
He concentrates his practice on construction and business litigation, as well as transactional work.
Josh received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Auburn University.
While at Auburn, Josh was the Vice President of the Tau Sigma honor society, and a participant in the Auburn University Global Business Experience in Central Europe.
He also interned in the offices of Congressman Robert "Bud" Cramer, former member of the U.S. House of Representatives from the 5th District of Alabama, and Senator Ted Little, representing the 27th District of Alabama.
Jessica is a partner in the firm's New Orleans office.
Upon joining the firm, she brought with her an extensive background in construction litigation from contractors', subcontractors', owners', and sureties' perspectives, all in a variety of forums, including federal court, state court, and arbitration.
She is experienced in navigating both public and private projects from the project conception (bidding and negotiating), project performance, and through project conclusion (final judgment and appeal).
Ryan is a partner in the firm's Texas office.
Acting as General Counsel for a national surety, he understands the ins and outs of surety and construction law and that the definition of a victory is unique to each new matter.
Since joining the firm in 2015, his involvement in the early stages of the bonding process-from negotiating bond forms with obligees to drafting indemnity agreements-provides Ryan with the opportunity to counsel his clients throughout the life cycle of a dispute.
Doing so pays dividends for his clients as these complex disputes often require collaborative, creative solutions.
