If you are considering ending a legal marriage in Florida, you should have a full understanding of your rights and obligations. Throughout the legal process, you will need to make decisions on parenting time, division of property and debts, and spousal and child support. Each spouse should have an attorney throughout the process to ensure that their interests are being protected.

Seeking a legal separation or divorce? Our attorneys provide representation during mediation, during the negotiations of a settlement, and in a litigated divorce. Clients can benefit from the advocacy of skilled legal professionals with years of experience in family law matters. Texas visitors can contact the Houston Divorce Lawyer for family law questions & referrals.

In Florida, divorces may be contested or uncontested. Divorces are no fault, which means that the process of ending a marriage may be initiated absent any specific catalyst, such as adultery or abuse. If one or both spouses has determined the marriage is irretrievably broken and that their differences are irreconcilable, a divorce may be initiated if either spouse has been a Florida resident for at least six months.
