Keith E. Hartley is a lifelong resident of Orange County, North Carolina.
Having earned his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2004, Keith spent a decade in the automotive industry before pursuing a legal career.
Keith completed his legal education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2018, where he graduated with honors.
During his time at UNC Law, Keith served as a staff member on the Journal of Law and Technology, volunteered with the UNC Law Cancer Project, and interned at the North Carolina Supreme Court for the Honorable Justice Samuel J. Ervin, IV.
Homa J. Freeman, Jr., (known as "Jay" and now retired), completed his undergraduate education (1971 - Economics with Honors; Phi Beta Kappa) and legal education (1974) at The University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.
He has represented clients in real estate transactions, estate planning and administration, elder law, business planning and development and community associations in the Research Triangle area since 1974.
He has been active in Bar Association activities at both the local and state levels, having served as Secretary of the Fourteenth Judicial District Bar Association, Chairman of the Education Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association and Chairman of the Practical Skills Course Committee.
James (Jim) B. Maxwell (now retired) completed his legal education in 1966 at Duke University and was an experienced trial lawyer who successfully represented clients in claims involving wrongful death, catastrophic injuries and medical negligence.
He was also represented professionals, including lawyers, judges and physicians, before their respective licensing boards and he was General Counsel to the North Carolina High School Athletic Association.
His legal abilities were consistently recognized by his peers.
Mr. Bowman provides service to his clients with the assistance of his paralegal, Teresa B. Wright.
Teresa obtained certification with The National Association of Legal Assistants by successfully completing a national examination; and, she is also certified by the North Carolina State Bar.
Teresa brings more than 25 years experience as a paralegal to assist clients with their matters.
Lori Rosemond, our Firm Manager, has been associated with Maxwell, Freeman & Bowman for 25 years and oversees the accounting and day-to-day office procedures.
She received a bachelor's degree, cum laude, from the University of Georgia.
She then attended the National Center for Paralegal Training in Atlanta, Georgia where she completed the litigation program with honors.
Prior to becoming Firm Manager, Lori worked for many years as a paralegal.
She has served as Membership Chair, Publications Chair, Co-Chair, and Chair of the Legal Assistants Division for the North Carolina Advocates of Justice and was an Ebbie Award Recipient.
