Chris earned his B.A. in History at the University of Central Florida in 1988 and his Juris Doctor from the Stetson University College of Law in 1991.
He is a member of both the Florida Bar and the Brevard County Bar Association.
A Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, Chris also earned a diploma at the Command & Staff College, Marine Corps University.
In the service of his country, he was awarded the Joint Defense Meritorious Service Medal and National Defense Service Medal (2 Stars).
