Candace M. Williams P.C
I was born and raised in Gainesville and have practiced law here for over 20 years. I work with all types of families on all matters of family law. I understand the needs of local families and will always strive to provide the best service possible to the members of my community. My parents divorced when I was a child, so I know firsthand the struggle children go through during - and after - a divorce.

If handled improperly, a broken family can lead to lifelong consequences for the children. They often don't have a whole lot of say during the process, which is why I will always place their priorities above anyone else's. My family law clients work directly with me, along with the help of my paralegal. Any questions or concerns you may have during the process will be handled quickly and completely.

Divorce is a major turning point in your life, and I want to help put you on the path to a new and better life as soon as possible. Times are tough, and dealing with family law issues just adds to your burden - both emotionally and financially.
Services
Although there is nothing wrong with being a general practitioner of law, clients cannot be sure that the attorney they hire has much experience in the area of practice relevant to their case.
At Candace M. Williams, P.C., you'll know what to expect.
My practice is devoted almost exclusively to family law, and I have nearly two decades of experience representing clients in Georgia.
From my office in Gainesville, I am proud to serve all of northeast Georgia in a wide range of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child and spousal support, and more.
Divorce and other domestic disputes are difficult no matter what's involved, but an experienced family law attorney offers the best chance for a positive resolution.
At Candace M. Williams, P.C., in Gainesville, I have represented clients throughout Georgia in divorce, custody, paternity, adoption and other family law matters since 2003.
I am committed to advocating for your rights and protecting your children in the legal process so that you and your loved ones can transition with ease to your new circumstances.
Child custody is one of the most difficult issues a parent faces during divorce.
At Candace M. Williams, P.C., I am committed to protecting your rights to raise your child in a healthy environment.
My goal will be to help you maintain the loving relationship you have with your child or children.
It's my belief that children do better and thrive when their parents are cordial and maintain an amicable relationship.
With mediation, I can help parents set aside their hostility in order to come to agreements on key decisions that are currently affecting or could affect their children.
Orders of protection provide protection from alleged abusers by generally requiring them to cease contact with and/or physically stay away from their victims.
At Candace M. Williams, P.C., I understand how important this legal tool is, which is why I am dedicated to taking the necessary legal steps to secure orders of protection to help protect victims of abuse, those who are afraid they may be abused as well as those who fear that loved ones of theirs are being or could be abused.
It's very important to understand that many states offer different types of orders of protection, which may be known as restraining orders, orders of protection or injunctions, depending on the state's laws.
One of the most important steps in your legal journey is the initial consultation.
This is your first opportunity to sit down with me and ask questions, find out what options are available to you and generally plan for your future.
I take the time to do a full explanation of your legal standing and to really get to know you and your needs.
Ideally, you can take this opportunity to be as thorough as possible by bringing in your full personal financial files, including your bank statements, mortgage details, retirement profile and tax documents.
