Wilber Law Offices
Dave Jake Schwartz is a 1988 cum laude honors and law review graduate of UC Hastings Law School, with dean's list honors and undergraduate prelaw degrees from UC Davis in political science and English. Jake is a former federal district court judicial clerk to the honorable Alan C. Kay, and a nationally qualified field sobriety tests practitioner (the same as police).

Jake was raised in Stanford and has lived in the Bay Area for 50 years, and in Sonoma County for over 20. After law school, Jake practiced at the San Francisco and New York offices of Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, before moving to more scenic Sonoma County, where he bought a local tavern in Guerneville, became a director of the Russian River Chamber of Commerce, and then ten years ago he founded and wrote his massive local DUI website which he still writes today, SonomaCountyDUILawyer.com.

Jake is a member of the California DUI Lawyers Association and the Sonoma County Bar Association.

He has proudly volunteered with the following organizations: Legal Aid, Legal Services Foundation, Active 20-30 Club, Women's Recovery Athena House, Empire Law School Mock Court, Community Development Commission River Task Group on Homelessness, Police Accountability Clinic and Helpline, Copwatch, Santa Rosa High School, Juvenile Hall, O/22 Rally Against Police Brutality, Windsor Community School, Northern California Cannabis Harvest Festival, Guerneville Homeless Count.

After a DUI arrest, a lot of anxiety comes from not knowing what's going to happen, and what you should do next.
For those people who don't want to read a lot of text but would rather see a diagram explanation of the entire Sonoma County DUI process, Jake searched the internet for a good DUI lawyer diagram which can show how it all starts, where a person arrested for DUI is in the process, and what can happen next.
He didn't find anything adequate and decided to write his own flowchart depicting all kinds of directions which a Sonoma County DUI case may take, from police stop and DUI arrest to Santa Rosa court appearances, and from the pink temporary license, to DMV hearing, to driving again.
Do not look any further for an attorney!
Read just a few of these thank you and testimonials and recognize that Jake is the man.
He is not too expensive and the outcome is well worth the cost for counsel.
Jake knows the law and what he is doing when he represents you.
Being from out of state I was extremely worried about logistics, time, and cost of my penalties for my huge mistake.
After the first time I spoke with Jake, he was reassuring and confident and I carried that with me up to sentencing where my charges were reduced and my penalties were manageable.
It is Important to Know Your Rights and Think First about the Law Before You Speak or Act.
According to the American Civil Liberties Union, police abuse continues to be a major civil rights problem in the United States, particularly against the poor and disenfranchised.
Today's conservative courts generally support broad police powers at the expense of individual civil rights.
Santa Rosa and Sonoma County law enforcement are no exception.
Illegal DUI stops and arrests happen here, and police statements and "advice" are often misleading.
Police officers may nominally be dedicated to serving and protecting.
But even the best cop can't guarantee your freedom or your safety, while the worst can threaten both.
Alarming police force happens right here in Sonoma County with Alcohol, Traffic & DUI Arrests.
The Santa Rosa Police Accountability Clinic and Helpline (PACH) is a Sonoma County all-volunteer non-profit organization, funded by the ACLU and private donations, which identifies and reports on abusive police officers and practices.
The information you provide below will be used by Jake alone, to assess your DUI arrest, court & DMV driver license situation, and then to call you for a free consultation and a free quote for DUI legal assistance.
All answers you provide are fully confidential (even if you do not to hire Jake) and will not be shared, marketed or otherwise re-used for any other purpose.
In addition, because this information is just for initial purposes, you may skip or put "don't know" for any question which you are uncomfortable answering.
