Many couples choose to take proactive steps to plan for the future and resolve certain issues that may arise in the event of divorce or death, by entering into prenuptial or postnuptial agreements.
These agreements are similar in nature but differ in the timing of their execution.
Prenuptial agreements are signed prior to a couple's marriage, while postnuptial agreements are signed during a marriage.
Postnuptial agreements may also be used to modify terms of a prenuptial agreement when the couple's personal or financial circumstances may have changed.
