Although divorce family law issues are painful, the right family law attorney can help the process to be transformative. The cleaner, simpler and more efficient your case moves through the mediation, agreement process or the courts, the sooner you can enjoy a clean slate and a fresh start, carving a new and exciting path for yourself and your family.
Are you ready to close a toxic or dysfunctional chapter of your life in order to begin anew? Gerard A. Falzone is ready to be your advocate, legal counselor and facilitator as you navigate the often tumultuous waters of mediation, divorce and/or child custody issues. The goal in any family law settlement is to resolve the case as quickly, peacefully and amicably as possible.
This is especially true in cases involving child custody issues. The more efficiently and smoothly the agreement, settlement or court hearings proceed, the healthier it is for all parties involved. That being said, I will not hesitate to work aggressively on my clients' behalf.

Mediation is an increasingly popular way for couples to settle family law disputes without the emotional and energetic drain of the courtroom.
As a mediator, I do not take sides; rather, I work with both parties as a neutral educator and facilitator, informing them about common court practices and rulings and helping them to determine the most wise and fair means of settling every aspect of their divorce and/or child custody disputes.
As a mediator, I do not make decisions.
I will, however, guide a couple as they make their own decisions.

Why would you need a paternity attorney?
California couples having children while not married who do not subsequently marry, are subject to the paternity laws of this state.
A paternity action involves Court proceedings that determine the paternity of the father if that is an issue, and also decide child custody, visitation and child support issues.
Related issues concerning property and restraining orders can also be decided by the Court.
Paternity actions can be resolved by agreement, and if they are, there is no need for anyone to go to Court.

My divorce clients have often commented on how easy and relatively inexpensive it is to get married, and how difficult and relatively financially costly it is to get divorced.
It is a fact of life that about one-half of all marriages end in divorce.
Therefore, while no one gets married with the expectation of getting divorced, everyone who gets married should know how their marriage will effect their legal rights and responsibilities.
Unfortunately, few people obtain pre-marital legal counseling about their separate property and community property rights, and about how their actions during the marriage may effect those rights in ways that they may not be aware of or even think possible.

During my more than 25 years of family law practice, I have met with and counseled hundreds of men and women considering a separation and divorce from their spouse.
Very often these people have misconceptions about how California law applies to their financial and legal situation.
Often they have formed their opinions from friends who previously went through a divorce and then counsel them like they are experts in California law.
Other times they obtain information from the Internet, which itself may be inaccurate, or which does not apply to that person's situation.
