In 2008 Dick Heidgerd and Eric Edwards partnered together and they have created Heidgerd & Edwards, LLP.

Elijah graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in English.
He earned his Juris Doctor degree from the Campbell University School of Law.
At Campbell, Elijah competed on the National Trial Team, served as Attorney General for the Honor Court, and participated in the Domestic Violence Pro Bono Project.
Prior to joining to Heidgerd & Edwards, Elijah worked at a small firm in Raleigh, NC representing clients in both criminal and civil matters.
