He is a 1994 graduate of The University of Texas at Austin and earned a Juris Doctorate degree from Texas Tech University School of Law in 1997.
During law school, David worked at the Lubbock County District Attorney's Office in the Appellate Section where he handled appellate issues and tried misdemeanor cases.
Upon graduation, David began his legal career serving as the Briefing Attorney to then Presiding Judge Michael J. McCormick of the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals.
